Michael Rumbolz to Lead American Gaming Association as New Chair

The American Gaming Association (AGA) has selected seasoned industry professional Michael Rumbolz as its upcoming chief. Familiar with the gaming sphere, Rumbolz will assume leadership from the present AGA Chair, Jim Allen, in January 2024.

Rumbolz conveyed his eagerness, remarking, “I’m privileged to accept this position and contribute to molding the trajectory of gaming in the U.S. The AGA is confronting significant challenges, from combating illicit gambling to advocating responsible gaming, and I’m prepared to expand upon the commendable efforts Jim has undertaken.”

Rumbolz’s credentials are a testament to his expertise. He’s held executive roles at Everi, a prominent entity in the gaming equipment sector, and acted as the Chairman of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, one of the most esteemed regulatory entities within the industry.

Bill Miller, the AGA’s President and CEO, lauded the selection, noting, “Mike’s background as an operator, producer, and regulator is unparalleled. He’s the ideal candidate to guide us ahead.”

Rumbolz’s comprehensive grasp of gaming apparatus, casino management, financial technology, and the legal framework makes him uniquely suited to steer the AGA into a fresh chapter.

Miller commended Jim’s proficiency and foresight in propelling the American Gaming Association and amplifying their sector influence. He conveyed appreciation for Allen’s guidance and collaboration over the preceding two years.

Allen’s term witnessed the gaming sector wrestling with recuperation from the COVID-19 pandemic while concurrently tackling the surge of illicit gambling activities – a pattern observed worldwide.

Recalling his period, Allen voiced satisfaction in the industry’s and the association’s present dynamism. He lauded their accomplishments in hastening the industry’s resurgence and setting fresh objectives for the future. Allen finished by stating his assurance in the AGA’s trajectory under Mike and Bill’s stewardship.
