Betsson Caps Off 2022 with Soaring Revenue and Record Profits

A top gaming firm, Betsson, concluded 2022 on a high note, announcing a substantial 40% revenue increase in the final quarter, hitting €220.6 million (roughly $237.4 million). This exceptional outcome was driven by a significant 76% surge in wagering revenue, surpassing the 27% expansion observed in their casino division.

Throughout 2022, Betsson reached an all-time high revenue of €777.2 million, marking an 18% rise from the preceding year. Profitability also flourished, with earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) hitting €51.1 million in Q4, a considerable 68% year-over-year climb. This robust conclusion contributed to a 12% overall EBITDA increase for the year, boasting a robust 22.2% margin.

Chief Executive Jesper Svensson, recently recognized as the Global Gaming Awards’ CEO of the Year for 2023, credited Betsson’s achievements to a blend of prudent fiscal oversight, calculated ventures into emerging markets, and ongoing investments in their technological infrastructure and product portfolio. He emphasized the company’s noteworthy 27% organic revenue expansion over the twelve-month period.

During the 2023 ICE London gathering, Svensson will lead a casual conversation known as the “GI Huddle,” with Betsson’s chief executive, Pontus Lindwall, as a participant.
