Casumo Exits Dutch Market Pending 2022 Re-Entry with Full Licensing

The Casumo Corporation is withdrawing from the Dutch market. This choice comes after updated internet gaming regulations from the Netherlands Gaming Commission (KSA). Previously this year, the KSA declared a fresh licensing procedure, with a mere ten permits obtainable. The application cost itself is €48,000 (approximately $58,000 USD). Casumo has opted not to seek a license. Effective October 1, 2021, Dutch gamblers will no longer be able to utilize Casumo’s offerings. The KSA will take strict action against any business unlawfully providing wagering to Dutch residents. They have already levied a substantial penalty on Tipico, a Malta-headquartered provider. The KSA aims to emphasize that only businesses fulfilling their stringent requirements will receive licenses. They will be evaluating factors such as what firms are implementing to avert compulsive gaming and encourage responsible play. René Jansen, Head of the KSA, indicated that the objective is to guide players towards lawful and trustworthy vendors.

Casumo is deeply invested in entering regulated gaming sectors, leading them to strategically scale back in the Dutch market. This demonstrates their dedication to securing full licensure and being prepared for a complete launch there as soon as 2022.
