AstroPay Supercharges Online Payments in Brazil with Pix Integration

AstroPay is simplifying online payments for Brazilians by incorporating Pix into its platform. Since its introduction in 2020 by the Central Bank of Brazil, Pix has witnessed a surge in usage, representing a significant 80% of all debit and credit card dealings nationwide.

AstroPay is integrating Pix through two methods: a user-friendly “native view” enabling customers to make payments directly on a merchant’s site using a Pix QR code, and a developer-focused SDK that empowers businesses to seamlessly integrate Pix payments into their current infrastructure. Initial findings indicate that the native view is already enhancing sales conversions by 7-15%!

Mikael Lijtenstein, AstroPay’s CEO, highlighted the company’s dedication to delivering an exceptional payment experience: “This addition will assist merchants in better engaging with users who favor Pix, a payment method that has transformed the Brazilian payments landscape.” He further noted that utilizing AstroPay’s wallet provides customers with enhanced flexibility and a swifter, more streamlined checkout process.

AstroPay is taking significant strides in the Brazilian market! They are introducing fresh functionalities to capitalize on this expansive market comprising more than 200 vendors and 1.5 million customers. This action represents the most recent phase of their growth strategy in Latin America – just in the previous month, they extended their payment options to small and mid-sized enterprises in Peru, Chile, Mexico, and Colombia. Their presence in Brazil has been impactful since the latter part of 2021, and all indications suggest they are poised for a lasting impact!
